Nubra Valley in Ladakh
A high-altitude desert valley in India's Ladakh
union territory is called Nubra Valley. One of the highest motorable passes in
the world, the Khardung La pass, connects it to the main Ladakh town of Leh to

Location
Nubra Valley is situated in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, in the northeastern region of Ladakh. It is situated 150 kilometers to the north of Leh.

The valley's elevation above sea level varies from roughly 10,000 feet (3,048 meters) to 17,000 feet (5,182 meters).
Landscape
The breathtaking desert scenery that surrounds Nubra Valley are encircled
by snow-capped mountains.The Nubra River, a tributary of the Shyok River, flows
through the valley.
Attractions
- One of
the biggest and oldest monasteries in Nubra Valley, Diskit is renowned for
its enormous Maitreya Buddha statue and picturesque hilltop setting.
- Hunder
Sand Dunes: A unique set of sand dunes where you can go on a camel safari
in the heart of the chilly desert.
- Panamik
Hot Springs: Adjacent to Panamik town, these naturally occurring hot
springs are well-known for their healing qualities.
- Yarab
Tso Lake is a tiny, charming lake with breathtaking views of the
surrounding mountains that is close to the settlement of Sumur.
Best Time to Visit
When the weather is nice and the roads are
accessible, May through September is the ideal time of year to explore Nubra
Valley. Because of the excessive snowfall during the winter, the valley is
impassable.

best to reserve your lodging in advance, particularly during the busiest travel

Permit
Indian visitors can
enter Nubra Valley without a permit. However, in order to enter Nubra Valley
and other parts of Ladakh, foreign visitors must have an Inner Line Permit
(ILP). The Leh Deputy Commissioner's office or the internet are the two places
to get the permit.

- It can
get rather chilly in Nubra Valley, especially at night, so pack thick
clothes.
- Drink
plenty of water and adjust to the high altitude gradually.
